The seminal work of Jean Arp’s ‘Grande Collage’ inspired Catherine Quin’s Autumn Winter 2016 collection. Struck by the restrained intelligence and seamlessness of the collage and the harmonious nature of the different coloured geometric blocks, Quin chose to evolve this season’s colour palette by introducing midnight blue, burnt beige and ivory as guest colours to complement the brands mainstay black offering. Quin became fascinated by the concept of collage for its metaphorical qualities, taking fragments from the past, dividing them and reassembling, building back up to form something new and modern. This collection is that juxtaposition; contrasting fabric textures classically made with a contemporary sensibility. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and luxury fabrics Quin has developed a trans seasonal, sophisticated collection that simplifies the life of the modern woman and the daily ritual of getting dressed.
